WHA Nationality Breakdown

WHA (World Hockey Association) is a former North American professional league that was played from the 1972-1973 season to the 1978-1979 season. The proportion of Canadian players varied between 78-91 percent, with American players being the second largest group at 6-14 percent.

The top spots in the European scoring leaderboard went to Swedes. Ulf Nilsson and Anders Hedberg, who represented the Winnipeg Jets for four seasons, both averaged over 100 points per season in the WHA, each scoring over 400 points. Both also won two WHA championships during their careers.
