CHL Birth State Breakdown

The CHL (Central Hockey League) is a former professional hockey league that ceased operations in 2014 after operating for 22 seasons. Michigan, Minnesota, Massachusetts and New York produced the most U.S.-born players and, in most seasons, accounted for over half of the American players.

Joe Burton holds the record for most points by a U.S.-born player with 985 points, which also ranks him at number one spot in the all-time CHL leader booard.

The chart below shows the relative proportions of different birth states in the CHL between 1992-1993 and 2013-2014 seasons. Season specific data used in the chart can be found on the birth state totals statistics pages.
